Updated on · Madrid Tuk tuk Bernabéu Tours

Quick answer

To see Madrid at night by tuk tuk, book the 1-hour or the 90-minute tour from dusk onwards: you pass the Royal Palace, the Almudena, Plaza Mayor, Puerta de Alcalá and Cibeles with the city lit up. The price is the same as in the daytime: from €100 per tuk tuk for up to 4 people. The time it gets dark changes a lot from month to month, so check the table in this guide.

What to see in Madrid at night by tuk tuk

  • Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral: two of the biggest buildings in the centre, with a different face once the lights come on.
  • Plaza Mayor: without the daytime crowds and with its arcades lit up.
  • Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta de Alcalá: two of Madrid’s most photographed spots, with quieter traffic.
  • La Latina and Cava Baja: taverns open and a lively street.
  • Gran Vía: its theatres and bright signs are part of these tours: 5 h, 8 h.

Which tour to choose for a night route

1 hourMadrid Express€100€150

5 hoursMadrid in Style, with Tapas€500€750

The 1-hour tour is the shortest and enough to see the lit-up squares and buildings of the centre. The 90-minute tour adds the Temple of Debod, which you see as dusk falls and then at night. The 5-hour tour includes Gran Vía, Malasaña and a tapas stop, and fits best with having dinner.

How to book and what to know

  • The price is the same as in the daytime, and it’s per tuk tuk, not per person.
  • Late-afternoon and evening start times depend on the time of year: check the free slots in each tour’s calendar or message us on WhatsApp.
  • Starting point: Puerta del Sol, 1, next to McDonald’s. If you’d rather be picked up at your hotel, it costs €20 extra.
  • Wrap up warm: from November to March it gets chilly as soon as the sun sets. In winter the tuk tuk carries blankets and rain covers.
  • Spaniards eat late: most restaurants serve dinner from 8:30 or 9 pm, so the tour fits nicely before dinner.

If you’d like to add the sunset, see the guide to the sunset at the Temple of Debod; and at Christmas, the Christmas lights tour with departures until 10 pm and the guide to the Christmas lights.
